I enjoyed the fact that the way the books were written will emerse you into the Wolf shifter communities. You grow to care about each individual you meet. There are a few over the top moments and story lines but they can be forgiven. This series does suffer from making all the omega's seem like helpless small weak twinkish problem common to the Wolf Shifter storied worlds. I think the twink as omega wolf narrative has been done to DEATH, and other veins of interaction are vitally needed. Also the hyper-muscled gym fit body type has been done enough to be stale. I am not saying that we need to go the chubby route even if I personally would like that. However I would like to see some BIG Guys who are strong, hyper masculine but not always gym perfect. I'd love to see a story about a BIG Alpha Wolf shifter who is underestimated because it is not perfectly buff, yet he wins love in the end.This is a lovely Wolf Shifter set well crafted and fun it just rehashes stale narratives in awesome but interesting ways. I give this set 4 stars. This set deserves 4 stars for the stale buff guy alpha \ neubile twink omega trope it depends on. The stories are good enough but nothing that breaks the current buff alpha \ tender weak omega wolf shifter romance mold. Yet this very by the numbers Wolf Shifter romance is no FIVE STAR Blow Out blazing new exciting trails in the Wolf Shifter Universe! Each book in this collection is reviewed separately.Rescued - What a great start to a new series in the Team A.L.P.H.A universe. We first met Sam and Dean in Decked where they spent Christmas with Ray, Papa P and the Team A.L.P.H.A guys and their families. I liked that we got a more in-depth story about them as they move into their new house, setup and start their new division called Alphabits and have their baby. Man, it was heartbreaking about wee John and everything that he’d gone through in his short life but he found his loving home with Sam and Dean and having some uncles made up of the guys from Alphabits. I think that each team member is going to bring their own unique qualities to the team and I’m really hoping that the twins eventually end up getting closer and not making everything a competition between them because as Dean said 95% of the time they don’t get along but 5% of the time when they do it’s golden. I’m looking forward to reading Pierce’s story next while him and Cyrus try and solve the cold case they’re working on.Abduction - I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The way that Pierce and Adrian met and didn’t get along was pretty funny, Pierce couldn’t scent that Adrian was his true mate because of the peppermint essential oil that put above his lip after being trapped in a car with Cyrus who had digestive issues put against Cyrus’s advice he put way too much on so he lost his sense of smell for awhile. Pierce are Cyrus went down to Florida to find Tony and Dex and possibly return Dex to his parents since there was a missing child report so they had to follow it up. Adrian had just witnessed Dex having a mild anaphylactic episode and being his uncle didn’t help Adrian’s protectiveness over his bother Tony and Dex. When Adrian and Pierce finally sat down and talked, Pierce told Adrian about Heath his childhood best friend and mate who he’d lost due to cancer about 10 years ago. That’s when everything clicked into place for them. He should be less worried when they claim each other after bubs is born. I’m looking forward to reading Gizmo’s story next as it should be interesting him going to the woods in the middle of nowhere. What gadgets will he bring or will he have to go completely offline.Conversion - I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved how Micah helped rescue the kids that ran away from the sham of a summer camp run by a religious cult that hated shifters so it was basically a conversion camp that separates the kids from their animals. While Giz and Ozzy are doing their recon at the Summer Camp as wolves they meet Micah and that’s where they find out Summer Camp is run by a religious cult and that Micah was originally a camper there and escaped and he’s been helping the kids that run away from the Camp to safety. Giz and Micah are true mates and though it seemed like they wouldn’t match since Giz is all about anything hi tech and Micah lives completely off the grid, I think they’re actually perfect for each other. I loved their connection. All I can say is that STAHP got involved and their plan didn’t really pan out well I hope it didn’t as it seemed like they didn’t think it through. Thanks to the Alphabits all the kids were saved and they even made sure to rescue all the jungle cats which completely cracked me up how they do it, lets say in involves a lot of catnip. I’m looking forward to reading Ozzy’s book next and I’m really hoping him and his twin brother Patton finally become closer as everything is a competition with them and they always seem to be fighting.Chained - I really enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Lance and Ozzy. Man, Lance in shifter form is absolutely adorable. Ozzy met Lance when him and Cyrus were interviewing Lance’s mother and step father about the disappearance of their heir Spencer who was only 6 years old when he was taken from the private shifter school he attended. Lance’s parents are completely stuck up and don’t actually care about Spencer as a person but as the only heir to their family fortune that’s another story so Lance tells them that they shouldn’t believe anything that comes out of his parents mouth and that they should talk to the people who actually knew Spencer like himself, Spencer’s old bodyguard and the house staff as they’ll tell you the truth. Man Ozzy and Patton have a strained relationship and I think that Patton just tries to be the opposite of his brother to piss him off lol and also since they’re constantly referred to as one person. It’s completely heartbreaking what Spencer had been through, which would be hard for any kid to endure but even worse for him since he’s autistic. I loved how Patton found a way to connect to Spencer pretty much straight away but it was hard seeing Ozzy trying so hard to connect to him as well but constantly been ignored even though it’s not Spencer’s fault but you could just feel the toll it was taking on Ozzy. It made the moment that they finally connected that much more beautiful. I’m looking forward to reading Patton’s book as I think he’s going to fall so hard for his mate but knowing Patton he’ll piss off his mate in some way. I’m also looking forward to seeing him and Ozzy get closer as they made so much progress in this book but there’s something holding them back to accepting each other as they are.Twisted - I totally loved Patton and Axel together. Yes, Patton had a few slip ups to start with in regards to trust since Axel was a former child thief but they sorted it out, Patton knew he’d stuffed up but didn’t know how to fix it. Axel found a way for Patton to tell him that he’s sorry and punished him appropriately. I loved that it was something that Patton had never done before so it made it that much more special since he was experiencing it with his true mate for the first time. That’s what I like about Susi’s books as she doesn’t mind mixing things up than just sticking with the usual defined alpha/omega roles in shifter books but just because someone’s an alpha it doesn’t mean they can’t love kids and be a Manny and work for Child Services like Adrian’s brother Tony or that an omega can’t be the more dominant in the relationship like Cody, isn’t afraid to use a firm hand like Axel or a complete and utter bada*se like Pax with his giant glittery purple knife. I loved the relationship between Axel and wee Maddie and it was made even more special when Patton accepted her as part of their family pretty much straight away. I loved how they got her hair fixed up for her after Ira cut her ponytail off as a way to abuse and humiliate her and got her new trendy glasses with the correct prescription you could just see her confidence grow it was awesome to see. Patton and Ozzy’s mum is a trip. I also loved seeing Patton and Ozzy mend bridges especially after Axel worked out that Patton pretty much did a lot of the stuff just to annoy Ozzy, like having his yard a complete mess and painting his house black. I’m looking forward to reading Cyrus’s book as I’d love to know more about him, as you can tell that he loves his brothers but it seems that he hasn’t seen them in years.Silenced - I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I loved getting Leaf’s side of STAPH blowing up the dam and flooding the sham of a summer camp which was actually a conversion camp run by a religious sect who were trying to seperate the shifter kids from their animals, Leaf smelt Cyrus’s scent on the jacket he loaned Pierce so Leaf was all over Pierce sniffing him while high off catnip and digging his claws in when Pierce was trying to fly the helicopter while a demon cat was in his lap and the helicopter was full of high as a kite on catnip jungle cats. I loved the connection between Cyrus and Leaf. I found it hilarious when Cyrus was lecturing his adoptive son Nate about him getting suspended after him and Jodie were caught kissing in the janitors closet while they were meant to be in class and then Nate notices some random naked guy sitting in their car and then when Cyrus caught Leaf’s scent he lost his mind and Leaf started climbing him like a tree. Nate was so appalled by Cyrus’s behaviour. I loved the instant connection between Leaf and Axel and that Leaf basically tells Axel that they’re destined to be besties and that Leaf is keeping him and licks the back of Axel’s hand saying that there a no take backs since he’s licked him and that he’s keeping him and makes Axel lick that back of his hand. Man, the reunion between Cyrus and his dad Don Francis and his brothers and their blessings on welcome to the family for Leaf and then after the birth of Skylar were awesome and you could just feel the emotion behind them. I loved the friendship between Cyrus and Finn and I loved how much of a papa bear Cyrus is first with Nate on the Jodie situation and he doesn’t think he can make it through the teenage years and then their other kids. I’m hoping the mini-alphabets will eventually get their own stories as they all deserve happy ever afters because of how they grew up. I’m also looking forward to reading Finn’s book next and then the Family Novak series so we get to know River some more and Cy’s family the Novak’s.Fraught - I really enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Finn and Antonio and I loved that Finn stood his ground especially with how STAHP usually deals with the shifters they go after. I loved how much Antonio doted on Finn and basically accepted Jodie as his daughter from the moment he heard about her. Finn and Antonio had a lot to sort out and I don’t blame Finn for running away from Antonio as they seem to be on completely opposite sides of the law at first glance but really they want to same goal they just have different ways of dealing with the bad guys. I also loved how Antonio isn’t ashamed on what he’s done in the name of shifter justice. Man, the scene of when Finn was getting a cesarian for his triplets was hilarious when after their first baby was born and he was handed to him he wasn’t happy since it was all him as he was born with ginger hair and he wanted their first baby to be Antonio’s, he was happy that the next baby had dark hair like Antonio but when they tried to hand him their baby girl he didn’t think she was theirs because she was bald and her brothers both have hair. It was even funnier that he named their babies after the ducktales all because he was on the good dr*gs since giving birth. I loved how against the mansion that Antonio had chosen for them to maybe buy since it was very secure and had barbed wire fenced but he completely changed his tune when he saw that it featured a dream two storey library. I’m really looking forward to reading River and Vasily’s book as it should be a fun but no doubt violent read since they’re both pretty bada*se especially River. It’s so cute that Vasily’s son Petey already loves River and calls him pretty Kitty since he helped rescue Petey and kept the violence away from him by shifting and letting Petey pet him.I’d definitely recommend this collection, each book in the series and both authors to everyone.
